Carolyn George, Psy.D

Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides assessment and therapy services for adolescents and adults in Tampa, Florida.  I have over 10 years of experience working with a wide variety of clients in various settings.  My specialties include working with anxiety, depression, trauma as well as health psychology.

I recognize that finding the right therapist can feel like a challenging task, but if you’re struggling with something in your life, you’ve come to the right place. Seeking support is half the battle. I understand every client is different and everyone is experiencing various challenges, so I believe in tailoring treatment to the diverse needs of each client.

I earned my clinical psychology doctoral degree from the American Psychological Association (APA)-Accredited Florida School of Professional Psychology, during which I completed my internship at Rockland Psychiatric Center in New York.  I then went on to complete my postdoctoral residency at the University of South Florida.  I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including a psychiatric hospital, university counseling center and student health center, the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

I am also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and I have received certifications in hypnosis and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also certified as a clinical trauma professional and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management.

A collaborative approach to therapy.

My counseling approach is strengths-based and solution focused and together we will identify the changes you want to make in your life.

“The hardest times in life to go through were when you were transitioning from one version of yourself to another”
